Where were you?
Oh, now it’s “Elbows Up,” is it?
How brave. How bold. How stunning and fucking brave to stand there with your little elbow in the air for a hashtag and a photo op—now, when it’s trendy. Now, when it’s safe. Now, when it’s all about making sure your Instagram followers know you “give a shit.”
But where the hell were your elbows when the government axed mandatory minimum sentences for violent firearm crimes? When gangbangers and criminals could skip off with a slap on the wrist and a participation ribbon? Oh, right—you were busy elbowing each other for likes on TikTok and complaining about “systemic” whatever from your downtown condo.
Where were your elbows when the Liberals tripped over scandal after scandal like a drunk in a dollar store? SNC-Lavalin? Blackface? WE Charity? $6,000 hotel rooms? All crickets. Not an elbow in sight. Just a lot of shrugged shoulders and “but Harper…” excuses.
And let’s not forget the immigration chaos—because God forbid anyone say it out loud: bringing in over a million people a year with zero plan for how we house them, treat them in hospitals, or integrate them into a broken system is not compassion—it’s reckless. It’s why ER wait times are a joke. It’s why young Canadians can’t afford a goddamn broom closet to rent. It’s why wages are stagnant while inflation eats us alive. But sure—elbows up for “inclusivity,” right?
This performative bullshit isn’t activism. It’s cosplay for people who discovered politics last week and think being pissed off on social media makes them warriors. Here’s a clue: if you weren’t screaming when rights were trampled, money was wasted, and our country got hollowed out from the inside—then your elbow doesn’t mean shit now.
Sit down. Or better yet, raise that elbow up your own ass and take a good hard look at where it’s been.

I know I have said this before. But #elbows up is the stupidest virtue signalling hashtag ever!! Along side Buy Canadian.
I often think “Where were you?” in response to cowardly Canadians who don’t seem to value their freedoms whatsoever. Definitely share this sentiment.
